Teacher Work Sample
Below, I have linked each section of my Teacher Work Sample. Please take a look at the work. Here is an introduction to my teacher work sample:
A Teacher Work Sample follows a Student Teacher through a unit containing at least five lessons where they can show that they can plan instruction that meets their students' needs and can see actual academic growth.
Here is what I did for my Teacher work sample:
For my Teacher Work Sample, I will present Module 4 about Rational numbers from Reveal Math. We have previously done addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of Negative and positive numbers. We are now applying that previous knowledge and expanding it to negative and positive rational numbers. This lesson was taught to four different classes of 7th-grade students, and this module was completed over the course of a month.
To prepare for this unit, I completed a contextual factors analysis, surveyed the students about what methods they preferred to learn by, and asked if they had anything they wanted me to know about. I also reviewed the students' IEPs and 504s. I completed this unit after fully taking over the classroom for a while. It helped that I had previous experience teaching lessons and classroom management before I taught this module.
