Overview of Teaching Standards 

Over the course of our student teaching experience, we need to show that we can meet each of the 11 Common Core Teaching Standards. This page will give you an overview of what each standard addresses.

The teacher recognizes that students' learning development varies by individual, and can implement a curriculum that is appropriate and will aid in all students' development. 

The teacher creates a diverse and inclusive learning environment that ensures all students will reach their full potential. 

Teachers work with students to support individual as well as collaborative learning. 

Teachers ensure that the material they teach is accessible and meaningful to all students. 

The teacher knows how to connect concepts and incorporate diverse perspectives to inspire students in critical and creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving on real-world local and global issues.

Multiple methods of assessment are used to show students their growth as well as a way for the teacher to monitor students' progress on concepts.

The teacher uses their knowledge of subjects, skills, students, community, and teaching methods to create lessons that help every student succeed.

Teachers can use a variety of instructional strategies to encourage students to learn a deep understanding of the material that they can then apply correctly. 

The teacher continues to evaluate their own teaching and learning and is constantly engaging in ongoing learning opportunities to expand their own knowledge. 

Teachers are constantly collaborating with their colleagues, families, and others to ensure the success of their students. 

Teachers can use technology effectively to help students learning.
